Through standards, recommended best practices, education, credentialing, recognition, resources, and collaboration, the Society supports the individuals and units entrusted with rendering honors during moments of service, remembrance, and loss.

Building The National Standard

The National Honor Guard Society is currently developing its membership structure, standards architecture, credentialing pathways, educational resources, and national partnerships.
Our work is intended to help Honor Guards across the country operate with greater consistency and interoperability while respecting lawful agency requirements, disciplinary traditions, and established military guidance where applicable.
Visitors are invited to follow our progress, join the interest list, and help shape the future of professional Honor Guard service.
Our First Five Years
We are building a national institution for the Honor Guard community: one designed to strengthen standards, expand access to resources, support professional development, and preserve ceremonial excellence for generations to come. Our first five years will focus on building the infrastructure needed to serve Honor Guard members, agencies, families, and communities nationwide.
National Conference
An annual gathering for training, standards development, professional networking, public education, and national award recognition.
Regional Chapters
A structured regional model that allows the Society to support local events while maintaining national standards and growing inter-service camaraderie.
Mutual Aid
A coordinated framework to help connect units, instructors, and ceremonial leaders during major funerals, memorials, and multi-agency events.
National Endowment
A permanent funding initiative intended to expand access to training, resources, scholarships, equipment assistance, and readiness support for Honor Guard units nationwide.
